SIX LITTLE WONDERS
Last Year I suffered from a severe bout of cystic acne and after months of product abuse, cleanses and supplements, I finally did what an educated person with a sane mind should have done in the first place. VISIT A DERMATOLOGIST.
Thus started my 9 month long journey with Epuris ( another brand name for Accutane).
During those 9 months, while I did suffer from most of the common symptoms of Epuris, one that I did not suffer from was dryness on my face. And it is these six little wonders that deserve to take a bow for a job very well done:
DAYTIME ROUTINE
Olay Regenerist:
This wonderful serum from the house of Olay is a concetrated light-weight moisturizer formulated with Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, ProVitamin B5, Green Tea Extract, amino peptides to regenerate and renew the skin's layers. The serum is great for layering and absorbs quickly into the skin leaving behind a velvety smooth texture. This is this first thing I slathered on my face every morning after my cleanse.
Hydraluron:
A moisture-boosting serum that sits underneath your moistrizer to boost its moisture levels daily. The serum contains pure form of hyaluronic acid which is known to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. The result is a hydrated, nourished and plumped skin.
Cicaplast Baume B5:
A rescuer for dry, irritated and sensitive skin, the Cicaplast Baume B5 is a soothing and repairing baume suitable for adults, babies and children. This multi-purpose baume can be used on the face, cracked lips and even minor everyday injuries. The ultra-nourishing texture leaves behind a comfortable feeling on my skin without making it greasy and works as a perfect moisturiser.
SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50:
Perhaps the most expensive product in my skincare routine was this sunscreen and rightly so as you absolutely need to protect your skin from the sun while on Epuris/Accutane. This weightless sunscreen is wear resistant and provides a broad spectrum protection. Unlike other sunscreen in the market which are white in colour, this sunscreen mimics the colour of the skin due to its colour-infused technology leaving behind a radiant skin and even tone.
NIGHT TIME ROUTINE
Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit and Seed Oil Blend:
Now I am a big fan of rosehip and of Pai and I was very excited when I discovered this product. Now I have to admit that I am not the greatest fan of its smell but if you can get past that, this bottle is all kinds of wonderful. Rosehip is known for its properties of improving the appearance of scars, stretch marks, sun damage and fine lines. Pai's product is infused with concentrated fruit hip oil and 100% natural vitamin A which boosts the skin's natural healing process. P.S: I did not have any issues using oil on my face and infact found it to better balance my face out.
Origins Drink Up Overnight Mask:
This thick-textured creamy mask is great for dry to very dry skin as it hydrates the skin with multitude of botanical oils. The fresh smell of apricots is intoxicating and makes me sleep happy :)
I loved this skin care routine so much that even after my Epuris course I continue to use most of these products in my skin care routine in one form or another.
